About PCOS Pathways
PCOS Pathways is run by Melissa Christie, an Australian woman with PCOS
PCOS Pathways has been created by me - Melissa Christie.
I am a daughter, a wife, a mother, a musician, a country girl, a health nut, a friend, an event manager, a happy cook, a water baby, a yoga lover, an emotional rollercoaster, an animal lover, a tree hugger, a writer and a
lover of our mother earth.
I come from and live in the Northern Rivers of New South Whales, Australia. I was diagnosed with PCOS in August 2012 and have been trying various forms of treatment ever since. My PCOS symptoms are delayed ovulation, mild acne, weight around the middle, moodiness, polycystic ovaries and an imbalanced Lutinising Hormone (LH): Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) ratio.
In July 2015, my husband Matty and I lost our first baby. I was 13 weeks pregnant and was effected by this loss for a long time. It likely occurred due to my PCOS.
I was in India when it happened and I spent hours in our hotel room googling all that is PCOS. I already knew a lot but now that I had lost our baby, I was reading it all through new eyes. And man, was there a lot to read. In a lot of places. And with so many different treatments recommended I was really overwhelmed by how I was going to manage it all.
That's when I decided I wanted to create support tools for women with PCOS. I mean, how is it that such a prolific condition can have so few resources!
The first support tool I have created is The 2019 PCOS Journal and I am SO excited about it. It is a tool that I need and have needed ever since I began this journey. A place to record what is happening in my body, the changes my treatment choices are making and to learn and be inspired. The journal is a supportive day planner designed specifically to help women with PCOS manage, track, understand and take ownership of their journey.
Please know that I am not a health professional. I am simply a woman suffering from PCOS who needs all the help she can get. And ladies, in this case, I felt I had to help myself. And all of my energy and hope is going towards making sure I can help you too.
I am not here to treat your PCOS - I am here to empower you with the knowledge to
seek the treatment you need.
I am the administrator for a Facebook Group called the Empowered Women with PCOS Group. I encourage you to join this group to connect with women like you who want to build each other up with knowledge about PCOS.
Good luck to you all on your PCOS path xx
